Shareholders anticipate Apple’s fate after Jobs’ medical leave

The Business Insider hails that the King is ill, and that His great technological empire shall remain at a halt until a worthy successor assumes the throne.  The King of course being the CEO of Apple Corporation Steve Jobs.

In 2004, the confounder announced he was stricken with a rare form of pancreatic cancer, and though his exact prognosis has remained tactfully concealed from the public, Jobs is now taking his third leave of absence in six years.

Perhaps what irks shareholders the most is the CEO’s refusal to speak on behalf of Jobs’ health updates — including improvements. Less than two years ago, Jobs underwent liver transplant surgery and — to this day — the reason behind the procedure has neither been discussed nor explored by those supposedly in the know.

Jobs is a driving force behind both Apple’s innovations and its management. He is credited with over 200 inventions such as speakers, keyboards and power adapters. His aggressive personality and management style has — without a doubt — secured much of Apple’s success.

Quoting Hockey player Wayne Gretzky, Jobs said he moves his company “to where the puck is going, not where it has been,” anticipating jumps and dips in the public’s wants and needs.

If Steve Jobs is all of those things, what exactly is Apple without him? Officials remain quiet.

Unfortunately, if the public thought that there might be a correlation between Jobs’ fluctuating health and the status of the corporation is true, stockholders should begin to wonder what else Apple isn’t telling them.

Should Jobs renounce the throne as CEO of Apple, will we see a significant dip in Apple’s stock and the overall efficiency of the corporation? Whatever the outcome, it seems the public will be the last to know.
