He replaces Interim Dean Jay Kvapil. Kvapil replaced Dean Donald Para after his eight years serving as dean.Para now bears the title of CSULB’s provost and senior vice president for academic affairs.
Torres-Santos is expected to take over the position beginning August 1.
When he begins his new role, Torres-Santos will be responsible for managing the college’s fiscal resources as well as recruiting and retaining both students and faculty.
“I am confident that [Torres-Santos] will be a highly effective leader who will work collaboratively with the administration, other deans, department chairs, faculty, staff and the university community to build on the significant accomplishments and recognition that has become the standard of COTA,” Para said in a statement released Monday.
