Long Beach State junior outside hitter Caitlin Ledoux nabbed her second Big West Conference player of the week award of the season on Monday.
Ledoux, who has earned the recognition four times in her career, led The Beach (19-6, 9-3 Big West) to two road victories over Pacific and UC Davis, respectively. The Phelan, Calif., native posted a double-double (15 kills and 13 digs) in the 49ers’ four-set win over the Tigers last Friday.
She followed up that performance by leading the ‘Niners to a five-set victory over UC Davis with a match-high 23 kills on Saturday. Ledoux nearly had another double-double in that match as she finished with nine digs.
Ledoux has earned the award at least once in each of her first three seasons at LBSU, and is the third 49er to pick up the award this season. She also was selected for the award in the conference’s first week of action on Aug. 30.
Senior setter Ashley Lee garnered the recognition after posting a rare quadruple-double earlier this season. Meanwhile, LBSU freshman middle blocker Haleigh Hampton shared the award on Sept. 20 with UC Davis’ Betsy Sedlak.
The 49ers return home this Thursday to face Cal State Northridge at 7 p.m., before hosting UC Riverside on Friday night.
