By A chemical reaction caused a mild explosion inside a metal cabinet in the Hall of Science at 2 a.m. on Wednesday, University Police Captain Scott Brown said. The explosion appeared to be accidental, and the case, which is still under investigation, has been taken over by Long Beach Environmental Health and Safety, Brown said.
Lost child at soccer tournament
A 4-year-old boy went missing at the AYSO soccer tournament held on George Allen Field Saturday, Brown said. The child’s parents reported him as missing at 4 p.m., and University Police located the boy shortly after the report, Brown said.
Students caught smoking marijuana near CBA
Three male students were caught smoking marijuana on the south side of the College of Business Administration building at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Brown said. One student was cited for possession, but no arrests were made, Brown said.
Wallet stolen from Beach Hut
A student’s wallet was stolen from the Beach Hut Convenience Store on Tuesday, Brown said. There was no indication of it being found, Brown said.
