News alert: On Saturday, zombies broke free from the exclusion zone located at Rainbow Lagoon Park. The brain-hungry living dead stalked the streets in and around The Pike, searching for victims to infect.
For the unsuspecting shoppers and diners caught in the path of the annual Long Beach Zombie Walk, the horde of bloody, groaning corpses brought to surface fears of a zombie apocalypse. Participants, clad in tattered clothing and gory make-up, were encouraged to stay in character and many did, spooking the bejesus out of bystanders.
