In the fall of 2022, students urged the administration to fix the poor ventilation and lack of air conditioning in the Fine Arts buildings. Construction to address these issues will begin in a few weeks and continue into the next school year.

The museum will be closed for two years for renovations starting 2020. The expanded museum will include three exhibition galleries, a reading and archives room, a works on paper study room, an education room, some expanded collection storage, updated work spaces and a renewed exterior.
