By Parking and transportation services announced that the sale of fall parking permits is being temporarily halted late Tuesday night.
The statement was sent via email to all students who hadn’t purchased a parking pass for the semester. Parking and transportation said in the statement that the suspension of sales is due to extreme traffic and parking patterns at the beginning of the semester.
“We are confident that patterns will normalize in the coming days at which time permit sales will resume,” the email stated.
The number of parking spots on campus did not grow with the large volume of new students admitted this semester, so many students may be left without an option to park on campus.
“What are we supposed to do?” asked junior Danielle Popovich. “I’ve been doing daily parking every day, $10 a day.”
This is the first time parking and transportation have had to suspend sales of parking permits, according to Parking and Operations Director Robyn Ames-Woodyard.
