By Teed Up hosts Matthew Gomez and Matthew Coleman are joined by Long Beach State’s freshman phenom setter Moni Nikolov, who has taken the volleyball world by storm and is leading The Beach to a 14-0 record to start the season.
Nikolov’s stardom since arriving in Long Beach has skyrocketed with his insane highlights, including his record-setting serve which clocked in on the radar gun at 84.4 miles per hour. His fake set has youth volleyball players across the world imitating his signature move.
His unorthodox size and ability have the 18-year-old drawing comparisons to the NBA’s Victor Wembanyama by national media outlets like ESPN. His older brother Alex also played volleyball at LBSU, winning AVCA National Player of the Year as a freshman in 2022.
