Easter Sunday earthquake scrambles Southern California

The strongest earthquake to shake up California since 1992 occurred on Sunday at 3:40 p.m., according to the Associated Press.

The 7.2 quake’s epicenter was in Baja California, Mexico, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. News reports said its effects could be felt more than 200 miles away in Los Angeles.

Cal State Long Beach University Police said no injuries or damages were reported.

Reuters reported that a man felt a high-rise building shaking in west Los Angeles.

“It was not strong shaking, but it was very scary of course,” said Nathalie Ruiz, according to Reuters.
