Dirtbags out-slug Pacific to sweep three-game series
Sophomore T.J. Mittelstaedt delivered a walk-off, bases-loaded single in the 11th to give Long Beach State a 7-6 victory and sweep over Pacific Sunday at Blair Field. On Saturday, junior Shane Peterson’s chopper in the ninth was unable to be fielded as LBSU edged Pacific, 14-13. The Dirtbags beat Pacific 10-3 Friday night at Blair Field.

LBSU finished 11th at conference tournament
The No. 10-seeded 49ers defeated No. 12 UC Santa Barbara 8-6 in the final day of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament Sunday. LBSU scored three goals in the fourth quarter to win the match, as Lauren Sieprath and Cecilia Canetti led the way with three goals apiece. The team finished the season 16-17.
