A debate between Long Beach mayoral candidates Damon Dunn and Vice Mayor Robert Garcia will be held Wednesday evening in the Beach Auditorium.
In last month’s election, Dunn and Garcia received the highest number of votes out of 10 mayoral candidates. Both candidates are now competing in a run-off election to be held on June 3.
Garcia received 9,670 votes, or 25.39 percent of all votes, cast in April’s election, according to the Long Beach City Clerk’s website. Dunn received approximately 1,200 fewer votes than Garcia and finished in second place with 22.26 percent of the vote.
Long Beach Press-Telegram Public Editor Rich Archbold will moderate the debate, which will feature panelists from the Press-Telegram, KABC and the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the debate will begin at 6 p.m.
