Blotter: Anti-animal torture event rubs someone the wrong way

A man caused a disturbance during the Cease Animal Torture event in the Psychology building at 6:26 p.m. on Nov. 16, University Police Captain Scott Brown said. It is not known if the man was a student, because the event attracted many people from off-campus, Brown said. University Police conducted a field interview, and the man left with no further incident, Brown said.

DUI in Parking Structure 3

A University Police officer witnessed a single car collision on the fourth floor of Parking Structure 3 at 12:50 a.m. on Nov. 17, Brown said. Chheang Sun, 19, was allegedly in control of the vehicle with the keys in the ignition, Brown said. Sun had hit the wall of the parking structure multiple times, Brown said. When the officer made contact with Sun, the officer determined that Sun was under the influence of alcohol, Brown said. Sun was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and booked at Long Beach City Jail, Brown said.

Rollerbladers grinding at The Beach

University Police responded to rollerbladers grinding the rails outside of The Nugget Grill and Pub at 4:46 p.m. on Nov. 17, Brown said. When University Police arrived, the rollerbladers were not seen doing anything, but police found that they were not affiliated with the campus and asked them to leave, Brown said. The rollerbladers left with no further incident, Brown said.

Busted locker in Theatre Arts

A locker in the men’s dressing room in the Theatre Arts building was broken into at 9:04 p.m. on Nov. 16, Brown said. The lock on the locker was cut to gain entry, Brown said. A wallet, debit card, credit card, school ID and $10 in cash were taken from the locker, Brown said. There is no suspect information regarding the theft, and the incident is under investigation, Brown said.

Bathroom theft in Faculty Office

University Police took a theft report of items from a bathroom in Faculty Office 2 at 11:55 a.m. on Nov. 19, Brown said. The theft took place in the women’s bathroom, Brown said, and it included an olive green bag, which held a wallet, keys, an ID and books. There is no suspect information, and the theft is under investigation, Brown said.
