Inappropriate behavior, phone calls bother students
A man was found masturbating on the second floor of the University Library on Oct. 17 in the evening, Brown said. However, the woman who saw him did not contact the police until noon the next day. The man was in his 30s, wearing frameless glasses, a black T-shirt and khaki pants, but police were unable to identify or locate him.
A woman contacted the police on Oct. 13 after she was bothered by phone calls coming from a campus phone number, Brown said. Over the span of a couple weeks, the same number would call her phone a few times a day without leaving a message. The police were unable to track the number because the same number displays for any department line.
Parking ticket leads student to report items stolen
After receiving a parking ticket for not having registration tags, a man realized the tags must have been stolen and reported it to the police on Oct. 13 at 6:30 p.m., Brown said. The registration tabs were taken off the man’s white 2001 Ford Ranger, but police said they were unable to determine if they were stolen on campus or another location.
Students’ items reported missing
A new white Apple iPhone 4S was stolen from the men’s locker room in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center on Oct. 18 between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
The man tossed his phone in a locker and walked away without locking it, University Police Capt. Scott Brown said. The missing phone is valued at $675.
A woman’s Sony Vaio laptop was stolen from the Fine Arts building after she left it unattended in an art studio on Oct. 17, Brown said. She left the room around 9:30 a.m. and returned 30 minutes later to find it missing. It is valued at $1,300.
Two cell phones and $100 in cash were stolen from students in the Fine Arts building on Oct. 13 in the morning, Brown said. The suspect is a Hispanic man in his 20s who was last seen wearing a gray shirt with brown Dickies carrying a camera bag.
A man reported his bike stolen from the bike racks located at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center on Oct. 13. He locked his bike at 3 p.m. and, when he returned at 8 p.m., it was gone. The stolen bike was a blue Felt road bike valued at $600, Brown said.
