LBSU heads to Malibu for matchup with Pepperdine

Who: Pepperdine (4-4)

When: Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.

Where: Firestone Fieldhouse, Malibu

Need to know: The Waves lead the all-time series against Long Beach State, 16-8, however the 49ers have come away victorious in three of their last four matchups with Pepperdine. Prior to those games, Pepperdine won eight straight games against the 49ers from 1998-2005. The last time these two Southern California rivals met, LBSU got the 67-58 win on Nov. 17, 2009, in Malibu.

Pepperdine is coming off back-to-back wins, including a victory over Big West opponent Cal State Northridge on Saturday, and is undefeated at home this season. Junior Lamond Murray Jr. leads all Waves with 15 points per game; he totaled 21 points against CSUN. Senior forward Stacy Davis ranks second with 14 ppg and leads Pepperdine with 7.5 rebounds per game.
