I’m pretty sure that by now everyone has seen the YouTube video of Bill O’Reilly and Geraldo Rivera acting like maniacs during Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor.” Great job at giving us youngsters an example of how good journalists should act when confronted with someone who doesn’t agree with us. Although Rivera has never been in my top 10 journalists to admire, the guy was at least able to hold the most composure during their heated argument about two Virginia Beach teenagers killed by a drunken driver who happened to be an illegal immigrant. And that’s giving way too much credit to Rivera. In the past, O’Reilly has been direct as to how he stands in the immigration issue. But this time around, he became infuriated so much as to almost run out of air. I’m not an avid viewer of “The O’Reilly Factor,” but from the clips I found online, it’s definitely not for me. He had Ann Coulter and Minutemen founder Jim Gilchrist for god’s sake. It’s extremely saddening that O’Reilly is taking a family’s grief and converting it to an anti-immigration issue. O’Reilly needs a break. Otherwise, how will he continue to be the leading conservative jerk that “defends” America?
