GolfChhuor makes all-conference team
Sophomore Brenda Chhuor earned an honorable mention to the All-Big West team after finishing tied for ninth at the conference tournament in Rancho Santa Margarita. As a team, Long Beach State finished fifth in the Big West after shooting a 78-over par 942, one stroke behind fourth-place Cal Poly.Freshman Reina Rogers shot 13-over 229 in the two-day tournament to finish as the 49ers’ top performer and place sixth.
Drake selected to all-conference team
Senior Michael Drake earned an honorable mention to the All-Big West team. Drake shot an even-72 to finish tied for 26th. Meanwhile, the men’s team finished eighth after shooting a 288, 22 strokes better than their finish on the second day. Senior JJ Katnik finished his LBSU career with an even-72 tie for 24th place, the 49ers’ best finish.
Track and field10 track and field athletes honored
Eight women and two men were named to the all-academic indoor track team by the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. Anastasia Kohlev, Jill Reynolds, Miia Mobley, Kristina Price, Katie Black, Ekiro Okoro, Jasmine Winfield and Jen Onyeagbako were honored on the women’s team. Hudson Wilvers and Alex Black were honored on the men’s team. Athletes needed at least a 3.0 GPA and participation in half of the team’s indoor events.
