Long Beach State utilized a three-run 10th inning to move past San Diego State, 11-8, in a nonconference game on Tuesday at Tony Gwynn Stadium.

Jordan Casas delivered the heroics in the top of the 10th inning by blasting a home run to right field. Kellen Hoime walked to put a runner on for Brennan Metzger, who doubled to score a second run, and Devin Lohman followed with his third hit of the day to put The Beach on top, 11-8.

The Dirtbags (19-18) finished the game with 11 extra-base hits, including a season-high three triples, as Lohman and Joey Terdoslavich each had three hits to lead LBSU.

Beach starter Eddie Magallon’s allowed one run and one hit over four innings of work to hand the bullpen a 4-1 lead.

The Aztecs scored two in the sixth inning to tie the game, 5-5, and opened up an 8-5 lead in the bottom of the seventh on a two-run double by Blair Moore.

Terdoslavich drove in two runs in the ninth inning off SDSU closer John Pecoraro to even the game and eventually send it into extra innings.

Jason Markovitz countered a pair of walks with two strikeouts to keep the Aztecs scoreless in the ninth.

Markovitz retired the side in order in the bottom of the tenth to collect his second win of the year, while Pecoraro took the loss for SDSU.

The Dirtbags return to Big West play when they travel to Cal Poly for a three-game set starting Friday at 6 p.m.
