If you give a perv a spy cam

Before posting on the topic of visitors who use our public institution to either study at the University Library or study college students’ anatomy, I’ve come across a blog focusing on a subject just as pervasive.

“Photos I capture of girls in and around Long Beach City, California,” says the so-called Sam Beckett on the prowl. / LBCGirls Tumblr

Whoever runs the self-explanatory Girls of Long Beach tumblr is satirical on the verge of creep, and just as offensive as the creator of Asians Sleeping in the Library. Deducing from his Twitter, the non-Irish-non-novelist Sam Beckett is potentially a droll, unemployed, chronic masturbator. At least his hands are working to blog, among other menial tasks.

A true perv will shoot you from the back. / LBCGirls Tumblr

He uses oversimplified tags such as womanwife beater and fat. However, the blogger includes partly demeaning, hormone-driven phrases like holy mother of god get me in there.

The content is nothing short of bad style musings, but click through LBC Girls and wait for it! The pervert focuses in on clothed female camel toes, butts and thighs sighted at Cal State Long Beach, the grocery or on public transportation. This sexually-frustrated ninja gets around. And if you see the stealthy shooter around, beware! (Unless you want to play the victim and be featured.)

Lo and behold, Invader of the Lost Ark! / LBCGirls Tumblr

The Tumblr is called LBC Girls, but it even includes a few male cameos, like a dude labeled as Indiana Jones.

So should we diminish the definition of watchdog to voyeur pig? Is the present Big Brother just a creep preying on us during our most vulnerable moments? Or is No Name merely giving commentary on the diverse demographic of the LBC to cause a stir? Am I just passively bitter that my candid is not featured?

If you give a perv a spy cam, he may just shoot photos and share them with the interweb.

In regards to privacy laws, if you have a reasonable expectation of privacy, anyone can take a photo of you as long as it does not intrude upon or invade your privacy. So if a stolen shot of you reading your Adderall prescription was taken, that could be pervasive. But if you were picking your wedgie, that would be fair game!
