September 26, 1987FOOTBALL TEAM TO STRIKE IT RICH IN MICHIGAN

When the Cal State Long Beach football team played the University of Michigan, it was one of the biggest paydays ever for the university. According to the CSULB Sports Information Office at the time, the 49ers expected to play before a crowd of 103,000 fans at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Mich., and were guaranteed approximately $300,000 for their participation.
