Liebel nabs national honor
After being named the Big West Conference’s Pitcher of the Week, senior right-hander Andrew Liebel was recognized as the Pro-Line Athletic National Pitcher of the Week. The selection was made by the National Collegiate Baseball Writer’s Association.

Panel recommends change to basketball’s goaltending rule
An NCAA committee suggested changing the goaltending rule so that a ball completely above the rim and that has already hit the backboard could not be touched, regardless of whether the ball is on its way down or still elevating. The current rule states that only a ball on the downward flight after touching the backboard would be subject to a call.
