After two qualifying sessions, the official line up of the Atlantic Championship, sponsored by Cooper Tires, is complete.
The top five drivers were Jonathan Bomarito, Simona De Silvestro, Carl Skerlong, Alan Sciuto and Kevin Lacroix.
Bomarito’s best time was 1:15.947 with a speed of 93.286 mph. He is a native Californian from Monterey.
De Silvestro’s best time was 1:16.089 with a speed of 93.112 mph. De Silvestro is from Mont-sur-Rolle, Switzerland.
Skerlong had a best time of 1:16.127 at a speed of 93.066 mph. He is from Mukiiteo, Wash.
Sciuto’s best time was 1:16.240 at 92.928 mph.
With a best time of 1:16.270 and speed of 92.81 mph, Lacroix finished in fifth.

The Atlantic Championship is in the open wheel category. The cars have a Mazda-Cosworth 2.3 liter engine. They use a five-speed gearbox with a sequential transmission, which means the driver can shift one gear higher or lower, but cannot skip gears. The cars weigh less that 1,500 pounds. The chasis is a Swift 016.a and the tires are from Cooper.
The drivers raced for 35 minutes in the second qualifying race, which took place early this afternoon.
The track is 1.97 miles long, the average speed of all 23 cars was 92.27 mph, the fastest was Bomarito at 93.286 mph and the slowest was Minium at 90.349 mph.
The final race will take place tomorrow at 10:35 a.m.
