Bittner’s big week
Sophomore opposite Dean Bittner was named the Sports Imports/American Volleyball Coaches Association Division I-II National Player of the Week. Bittner had 40 combined kills in the 49ers’ back-to-back victories over No. 4-ranked Brigham Young last week at the Walter Pyramid.

Athletes make NCAA Regionals
Senior Robert Jennings tossed a 198’5″ in the hammer throw and threw 181 feet in the discus, qualifying for both events in the NCAA Regionals. Meanwhile, senior David Sampson threw a 169’9″ in the discus, and senior Katelyn Ciarelli topped her lifetime best in women’s discus by 11 feet, as she tossed a 169’8″ to reach the regionals as well. All marks were made at the USC Invitational last weekend.
