Turner earns third straight Big West honor
Freshman pitcher Brooke Turner was named Big West Pitcher of the Week for the third consecutive week and for the fifth time this season. Turner struck out 18 over the weekend and helped the No. 20-ranked 49ers post two shutout victories (6-0 over Iowa State, 1-0 over No. 22-ranked San Diego State). Turner’s struck out seven in LBSU’s 2-1 win over No. 7-ranked Texas A&M last Sunday.
Ranked teams keep coming
49ers play two ranked teams in the Judy Garman Classic over the weekend. LBSU will face No. 18-ranked Washington Friday night and No. 14-ranked Fresno State Saturday morning.
