This week in cartoons …

If you’re reading this, it means you’ve almost made it through the first week of school. Give yourself a pat on the back. You deserve it.

But starting next week, forget about teachers “trying to get to know you,” or telling you that this semester will be fun. They’re lying.

They probably still won’t even remember your name by the fourth week and your existence in that classroom will be of little interest to them.

But don’t worry. You can change all of that with the simple act of class participation.

Professors usually get a kick out of students who get involved in the classroom.

When you raise your hand and voice your opinion, you make them feel like their class has had some sort of impact on that hung-over brain of yours.

Forget about what your friends use to say back in high school. Be the teacher’s pet, indulge them.

Who knows, you might actually learn something and be remembered for more than a name that’s hard to pronounce.
