OCTA bus routes 50 and 60 - the only two OCTA routes than run by Cal State Long Beach on Seventh Street - are temporarily out of service. These two route closures and nearly 50 others are the direct result of the OCTA coach operator strike, which began this past Saturday after months of failed negotiations between the labor union and OCTA. OCTA employees are striking for higher wages, but in their working absence have also displaced many thousands, including CSULB students, who depend on the large Orange County mass transit system to get to work or school.
