Club Hockey
The University of Denver eliminated the Long Beach State’s club hockey team in the opening round of the West Regional Tournament for the second year in a row by a 5-2 score in Logan, Utah on Friday afternoon.
Baseball
The Dirtbags (5-4) were in Houston over the weekend, facing No. 6 Rice (4-4). After winning 4-3 in 11 innings Friday, LBSU lost 11-2 Saturday and 2-1 Sunday.
Women’s Tennis
No. 27 LBSU (5-1, 3-0) recorded two more wins over the weekend, beating San Diego State 5-2 on the road Friday and then beating UC Riverside 7-0 at home Saturday.
Men’s Volleyball
LBSU (6-7, 3-6) dropped under .500 for the first time this season, losing at Cal State Northridge 3-2 Thursday. On Saturday, the 49ers were and were swept by UC Santa Barbara 3-0.
