Looking to make it four straight

Led by Aaron Nixon, the 49ers are on a three-game winning streak. They will look to win their fourth straight as they travel to San Jose Sunday.

Sunday afternoon, the Long Beach State men’s basketball team will try and repeat what it did in its second game of the season – beat San Jose State.

On Nov. 15, LBSU beat SJSU 86-67 in the CBE Classic at Stanford.

The two teams will meet again, this time on the SJSU home court, as the 49ers try to stretch their winning streak to four games.

LBSU (5-4) is coming off a short two-game home stand this past weekend in which it beat Pepperdine and Sacramento State.

The 49ers 21-point win over Sacramento State was their biggest win of the season.

Aaron Nixon scored a game-high 19 points, hitting six of his nine shots and was 2-for-3 from behind the arc in the win over the Hornets

SJSU (1-8) has lost two straight and its only win this season was over Big West foe Cal Poly at San Jose on Dec. 3.

Spartans forward Tim Pierce leads the team in points per game, averaging 13.

The game Sunday will be the first of three non-conference road games for the 49ers. LBSU will also meet Loyola Marymount Dec. 22 and UC Davis Dec. 28.

The final non-conference game before Big West play begins will be at The Walter Pyramid against Manhattan Dec 30.
