University Police has announced a crime alert about three separate attacks on campus.
The most recent attack occurred around 8:20 p.m. Nov. 12 near the South Turnaround when the suspect grabbed a woman from behind and attempted to “pull her into the trees,” but she escaped, according to the crime alert. The suspect was described as a 6-foot-tall, dark-skinned man, possibly Hispanic, with a medium build. He was wearing dark upper garments with dark Dickies.
Another suspect, who was described as tall white man with a thin build, light-colored hair and between the ages of 20 and 30, attacked a female student around 10:15 p.m. Nov. 8 near the Physical Education Building access road where it meets the music access road. The suspect grabbed the woman from behind and “pulled back towards the tree line,” but the suspect “let her go,” the crime alert stated. He was described as wearing a teal-colored shirt and women’s pantyhose on his lower torso.
A female student was sexually assaulted around 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 21 after the suspect grabbed and pulled her from Earl Warren Drive toward the pathway near “the flood control near the Parkside dorms,” the crime alert said. That suspect is described as a 6-foot-tall, pudgy, tanned to light brown-skinned man. He was described as wearing a black beanie, ski mask, black-hooded sweatshirt and a black belt with silver studs.
“There are no similarities between the three,” said University Police Lt. Fernando Solorzano. “The community needs to be aware that these incidents are happening.”
