It’s “HalloweenTime” at the Happiest Place on Earth. For the first time in its 51-year history, Disneyland has decided to celebrate this seasonal event, Disney style.
Gigantic Disney characters as carved pumpkins hover above the Main Gate, watching all who enter the Magic Kingdom. Jack-o-lanterns reside on the hills next to the Haunted Mansion, casting an eerie glow over the queue. The windowsills of Main Street, U.S.A. are spotted with pumpkins.
The flowerbeds around the hub with the Walt Disney and Mickey statue are autumn colors, much like the gardening throughout both Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure. To top it off, a gigantic Mickey pumpkin at the entrance of Main Street smiles at all who enter.
Rides like the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror have extra decorations for the Halloween holiday. The Haunted Mansion, continuing with its tradition, has been transformed to the Haunted Mansion Holiday, with Jack Skellington and his friends from “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” giving a new twist to the house of 999 happy haunts.
Both parks also have new shows and special Halloween events.
HalloweenTime at the Disneyland Resort will run through Oct. 31.
