Highlights from Beijing:

Michael Phelps became the most decorated Olympian in history — Winter or Summer Games — with his 10th and 11th career gold medals, surpassing Carl Lewis, Mark Spitz, Larysa Latynina and Paavo Nurmi, all of whom won nine. He’s also 5-for-5 with three events remaining in Beijing on his quest to break Spitz’ record of seven gold medals in a single Games.

The U.S. women’s gymnastics team won a silver medal but faltered in the final event, handing host China its first team gold in women’s gymnastics.
