Dorner is said to be in a Big Bear cabin after shootout

UPDATE: The cabin that is said to hold a suspect that matches Christopher Dorner caught on fire on Tuesday afternoon, according to CBS News.

UPDATE: According to the Los Angeles Times, a San Bernardino County Sheriff Deputy has died of wounds from Tuesday afternoon’s shootout that allegedly involved suspect Christopher Dorner.

A suspect who matches the description of Christopher Dorner, the former Los Angeles Police Department officer who is suspected of committing multiple homicides, has engaged in gunfire with authorities in Big Bear on Tuesday afternoon, the Los Angeles Times said.

According to the Associated Press, two officers were shot and wounded in a shootout with a suspect. The extent of the officers’ injuries is unclear, according to the LA Times.

The suspect broke into a Big Bear cabin and held the cabin’s residents hostage until he left this morning, the LA Times reported.

The suspect then stole a vehicle, possibly belonging to the cabin’s residents, and crashed it while engaging in gunfire with authorities, according to the LA Times.

The suspect is currently surrounded by police in a Big Bear area cabin, according to the LA Times.
