Blotter: Girlfriend pushed by boyfriend in Science Hall

A female student was pushed by her boyfriend in the Hall of Science at noon on Tuesday, according to University Police Captain Scott Brown. The witness who saw the altercation contacted University Police, and the two were spotted and questioned, Brown said. Both suspects denied the incident; therefore, they could not be detained, Brown said. The man, who does not attend Cal State Long Beach, was given a seven-day stay-away, and the female CSULB student was issued a judicial citation, Brown said. There were no signs of injury or alcohol use, Brown said.

Two dogs found in parked car

Two small dogs were left in a Toyota Tacoma and found by University Police in Parking Lot 7 at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Brown said. The owner of the two dogs walked up during the investigation, and the dogs were not harmed, Brown said.

Kappa Sigma forced to relocate recruiting booth

Kappa Sigma Fraternity at CSULB set up a recruiting booth in front of the Parkside College Office on Sunday, but they were forced to move the booth because they didn’t have permission to recruit there, Brown said. He said University Police were contacted because Kappa Sigma initially refused to move when they were asked to leave. When police arrived, the frat booth was in the process of relocating to the front of Parkside, Brown said.

Bike stolen from Student Recreation and Wellness Center

A light blue Schwinn Bicycle was stolen from the Student Recreation and Wellness Center bike rack at 6:43 p.m. on Tuesday, Brown said. The thief most likely cut the cable, Brown said.
