Blotter: Hole in the wall

A large hole was discovered by a maintenance worker in a wall near mechanical room 118 of the Kinesiology building at 11:05 a.m. on Nov. 26, University Police Sergeant Rick Goodwin said. There is no knowledge of how or when the hole was made, and there is no suspect information, Goodwin said.

LBPD alerts University Police of armed robbery suspect

Long Beach Police Department contacted University Police regarding a man who committed an armed robbery near Seventh Street and Bixby Terrace at 9:43 p.m. on Nov. 26, Goodwin said. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male of unknown age and armed with a silver revolver, Goodwin said. The suspect was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweater and blue jean shorts, Goodwin said. No further information is available, Goodwin said.

Ex-boyfriend harasses bookstore employee

The former boyfriend of a woman who works in the University Bookstore has been calling the woman numerous times about her schedule was reported to the University Police at 10:33 a.m. on Nov. 26, Goodwin said. The ex-boyfriend has allegedly been bothering the woman since their relationship ended in May, Goodwin said. The woman does not consider the man a threat, and she didn’t want a report filed, Goodwin said. Information regarding a restraining order was issued to the woman, Goodwin said.

Missing nameplate

A faculty member in Faculty Office 3 reported the theft of his nameplate at 12:54 p.m. on Nov. 26, Goodwin said. The faculty member was changing departments when he noticed his nameplate was missing, Goodwin said.

Bike stolen from Horn Center

University Police took a report regarding the theft of a men’s Schwinn bike at 10:40 p.m. on Nov. 27, Goodwin said. The bike was secured to the bike racks on the south side of the Horn Center, Goodwin said. The incident occurred between 6:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., and the loss is valued at $300, Goodwin said. No suspect information is available, Goodwin said.

Restroom theft

An unattended backpack, its contents and a wallet were taken from the women’s restroom at the KBEACH radio station on campus at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 20, Goodwin said. No suspect information is known, Goodwin said.
